lyrics
feet are up on the oak wood desk
it’s a privilege we always imagined
it’s a story written for us to read back to us
make it more attractive
fool me and make me think I earned it
make it shine then cover it in dirt
fool me and make me think I found it
the books on the shelf are all covered in dust and
all those words, they don’t amount to much
unless I finally fucking say them
an uncomfortable resemblance
gratuitous acceptance
you know I’d be lying if I said
I’d decline your offer
make me more attractive
fool me and make me think I’m wanted
make me shine, wash off my dirt
fool me and make me think that I could
look like them if I’d just wash my hands
just wash your hands
now I’m so drenched in sanctity
i’m practically the fucking pope
feet are up on the oak wood desk
it’s a privilege we always imagined
it’s a story written for us to read back to us
A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
PIB is my favourite hardcore band. I love their sound and aggression. No one does it like them. It’s a perfect blend of hardcore, punk, grunge, dirty and grimey. PIB ‘til I DIE honeydill
Adopting an optimistic, genre-fluid mindset atypical to most contemporary punk rock, the Aussies rage against the machine with glee. Bandcamp New & Notable May 2, 2024
From the first deadened cowbell to the last dissonant guitar interval, Dutch quartet Geo's new record is shaped for impact. Bandcamp Album of the Day Apr 25, 2024
This album is amazing from start to finish! It's got such a cool, poetic, punk rock vibe. Hits the soul, for real. Please come play in Miami, Florida soon! Thank you for your art! richnice1975
